“Exiting the toxins”
“Before you begin the
game, it’s the toxins that you’ve to drain.”
To
improve health and overall well being before starting a weight loss diet, what
deserves your keen attention is detoxification. You’ll come across plenty of
detox products like detox tea and laxatives available in the market to serve
the purpose. But, I am a nature lover and love to do things naturally, whether
it’s weight loss or the pre-game of detox. Our body’s elimination system
involves a lot of organs; liver, kidneys, digestive system, skin, and lungs.
With detoxification, you’ll start feeling light even before losing any weight.
It will just be like an energetic spark to shoot up the spike of your want for
weight loss. Depending upon your preference and personal choice, you can take 1
or 2-weeks for the detoxification phase. Let’s begin:
- Stop taking
refined sugar. Take only natural sugars like that from fruits. Add citrus
fruits to your routine for they contain Vitamin C, a very good antioxidant
that helps in detoxification. It will help you get rid of free radicals.
- Identify bad
carbs and remove them from your diet. Carbs can be good as well as bad.
Identify the ones with low carb content and high fibre content. Take only
those. No white bread, pasta, spaghetti. You can take cereals and grains.
- Cut down
alcohol intake. Do not add a toxin while being in the detox phase. During
weight loss, you’ll get wine to address to your cravings.
- Do not take
any soda or sweetened beverages. Eat fruits.
- Drink plenty
of water. It will help drain the toxins easier and faster.
- I do
understand the cravings for processed foods and sometimes it’s the need of
the hour when you don’t have time for cooking. But, it is these processed
foods from where the actual toxins arrived. The changed lifestyle is, of
course, the reason for lifestyle diseases. When you get everything ready
to eat, you do not even want to walk to the kitchen. If you’ve been living
this lifestyle for long, it can be hard to give up but if not today, then
when? With each passing day, you’re putting your health at stake.
- If you love
sprinkling more and more salt over a dish, then please cut it down. Salt
is necessary but in optimal amounts.
- Sleep at
least for 6-7 hours to let your body help out with the work you’ve taken
up. The body works while you sleep. But don’t sleep just after dinner.
Keep at least a gap of 1.5-2 hours between dinner and bedtime.
- If you are
physically active, it’s pretty good. But, if you are not, then start with
a mild walk of 10-15 minutes before resorting to any weight loss diet.
- Sweat more
than you normally do. You can try some sauna where you can sit for just 10
minutes a day. This will compel your skin to excrete the toxins.
Let’s
move to the next phase of diets and here the game begins. We will start with different
diet plans and with considerations that which diet is suitable for which kind
of purpose or population.
